Let me help you tell your family’s story. I have been a painter my entire life. Painting was my first love and how I fell into photography. While visiting our family in TN over the New Year, Aaron and I were sitting in my grandparents living room starring at a painting of my grandfather’s old homeplace painted by my father. Its really beautiful and can captivate a sense of emotion that cannot be described. Listening to my grandfather describe where he slept, how he fell in the creek when it was freezing outside, and how he and my grandmother lived in the small spring house when they were first married gave me a deeper appreciation of what I do as a photographer and artist. Photography and art are always treasured keepsakes because they cannot ever be redone once that moment has passed. I will never have more photographs of my grandmother as a teenager than I already have because she will never be a teenager again. I encourage you to have professional artwork done for your family to enjoy now, and future generations to enjoy later. Your great grandchildren will want to know about you, see your face, your life, clothes you wore, and who you loved.
