Growing up my dad had a fancy film camera that he only used on “special occasions”. It lived in my parents closet and collected so much dust it was long forgotten about. I have probably a total of three pictures with my mom, even less with my dad, and a total of zero of our entire family! That’s right i do not have one picture of my Dad, my Mom, and myself together in one single photograph. It makes me a little sad. My parents divorced a few years ago so there is no way possible I will ever have a tangible photo of my family. Aaron and I often set up our self timer on my camera and get a few shots, or when we go on vacation we try to find a good local photographer to capture some moments of us. We do it because if for some reason my daughter ever forgets how much we love her, she can go back in time and see that love preserved in a tangible way.
For Mother’s Day my husband was sweet enough to get some shots of myself and Jozlyn. He has no clue how to use my camera, or any interest in learning. I put my camera in aperture priority mode so my camera would fill in the rest of the settings for him and let him snap away. I really love some of the shots he got and can’t wait to have them printed out and put in a box!
