Welcoming Baby Joseph | In Home Newborn Session

When I first met Ali, we attended church together. Her family had just moved back to the States after living a short time in London for her husband, Patrick’s job. I remember thinking…WOW how cool and exciting! Ali originally contacted me about coming to the hospital when Joseph was born to snap a few photos of her older children meeting their baby brother for the first time. Joseph had other plans. Refusing to enter the world in a timely manner Ali had to be induced which made recovery a bit more exhausting. We decided it best to reschedule our session until a few days after the birth so everyone felt relaxed and comfortable in their home. Although I didn’t capture those first few moments of the siblings meeting Joseph, you would never know it. I was greeted at the door by children bursting with excitement of their new baby brother! They were literally fighting over who would hold him in the pictures. It was so wonderful to see children welcome a new baby with such joy. They were all so proud of him. Ali helped the kids make a beautiful mobile of star cutouts hanging over his bassinet to remind him to look up toward the heavens. The star theme was so fitting for this little guy. He was surrounded by such love and truly shone in the midst of everyone. This in home newborn session captures the true beauty of adding a new life to the family.

Patrick and Ali, thank you for letting me photograph your sweet new baby and beautiful family.
